Traceable. Verified. Compliant.

In highly regulated markets, compliance is the product. Every molecule we move is fully traceable and certified to the highest global standards — verified by independent third parties at loading.

Why it matters

Compliance is
the product.

A tonne of biodiesel without its certification is just oil. The regulatory paperwork — the proof of where a molecule came from and what it saves — is what gives sustainable fuel its value in Europe.

European demand for biofuels is created by regulation: blending mandates and greenhouse-gas reduction targets under the Renewable Energy Directive. To count against those targets, every litre must carry an unbroken, audited chain of evidence back to its feedstock origin.

That is the gap Mandara closes. We carry certification across the corridor — helping suppliers in Asia meet European evidentiary standards, and giving European buyers documentation they can take straight to their auditors.

Standards & certification

The frameworks
we work within.

Four frameworks govern the molecules we move. Our desk works inside all of them, every day.

ISCC EU

01

The International Sustainability & Carbon Certification scheme — the dominant voluntary scheme for proving sustainability under the EU’s Renewable Energy Directive. Mandara trades on an ISCC mass-balance basis, with Proof of Sustainability documentation issued for every parcel.

RED II / III

02

The EU Renewable Energy Directive sets the targets that create European biofuel demand — including greenhouse-gas savings thresholds and sustainability criteria every imported molecule must meet. Our cargoes are structured to qualify from the outset.

Annex IX

03

The directive’s list of advanced and waste feedstocks — including UCO and POME — that receive preferential treatment toward member-state targets. Correct Annex IX classification at origin is one of the most valuable things we verify.

RSB

04

The Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials — a global certification standard covering environmental and social criteria across bio-based supply chains, used where counterparties require certification beyond ISCC.

How a molecule
keeps its proof.

Traceability is not a certificate stapled on at the end — it is built into every step of the flow.

01Origin verificationFeedstock source, collection records and supplier certification are verified before a parcel enters the flow.
02Mass balanceCertified volumes are tracked through aggregation and processing under ISCC mass-balance bookkeeping.
03Proof of SustainabilityPoS documentation is issued for the cargo — carrying feedstock class, origin and GHG-saving data.
04Independent inspectionSGS or Saybolt verify quality and quantity at loading; lab analysis confirms the cargo is on-spec.
05Discharge & audit trailDocuments transfer with the cargo at discharge — a complete, auditor-ready trail from origin to tank.

The point of it all

Molecules that
earn their place.

Waste-based fuels exist because they save carbon against the fossil baseline. Indicative greenhouse-gas savings for the grades we trade most:

~83%*
UCOME — GHG saving vs fossil
~90%*
HVO — GHG saving vs fossil
~80%*
POME ME — GHG saving vs fossil

* Indicative typical values for illustration. Actual GHG savings are calculated and certified per cargo under the applicable scheme.
